The Generations Institute at Long Island University is an academic center geared towards understanding and improving the lives of younger generations.

The  Generations Institute seeks to tell the story of changing ways in which young people view and interact with the world around them. Intergenerational communication, and the way in which public policy disparately effects different cross-sections of people is an area in need of more attention.

Now, more so than ever, innovations in communications and workplace development as well as migratory and immigration patterns are changing the ways people interpret and view the world. The Generations Institute seeks to find solutions to complex problems facing young people everywhere.

About Us

What We Do

The Institute will conduct scholarly research using cutting edge data tools in efforts to provide insights and policy solutions to improve the lives of Millennials and Gen-z Americans. In order to do this, the Institute shall employ a mixture of social media, data analysis, scholarly white papers and polling data to create and amplify the voice of young people throughout the country.

Our Work

The Generations Institute seeks to tell the story of changing ways in which young people view and interact with the world around them. Intergenerational communication, and the way in which public policy disparately effects different cross-sections of people is an area in need of more attention. Now, more so than ever, innovations in communications and workplace development as well as migratory and immigration patterns are changing the ways people interpret and view the world. This generates inherent inequalities among socioeconomic groups that must be explored in depth. The Generations Institute seeks to find solutions to complex problems facing young people everywhere.
